Why hasn’t the world champion, Lando Norris, been on the podium for four races? His last podium was P3 in Madrid on 13 September. Then Baku: McLaren brought as many as seven updated parts, Norris said he was ‘just slow’ on the straights, and at a Safety Car restart Colapinto hit Gasly, who was knocked into Norris. Since then: P9 in Malaysia, P4 in Singapore, P5 in Austin. Andrea Stella says rivals may have taken bigger development steps, and McLaren are level on points with Red Bull (355). And after Austin he can no longer win the title: 154 points behind Kimi Antonelli with only 125 left.
