Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud produced a memorable moment on Day 2 of the second Test against West Indies at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. He bowled the well-set Amir Jangoo for 133 with the second new ball, ending a brilliant innings that had put the visitors in a strong position.

Jangoo had played a crucial role in West Indies’ recovery after the visitors lost three early wickets on Day 1. His century helped them recover from 27/3, but Mahmud eventually found a way past the left-hander with a delivery that moved sharply off the pitch.

The dismissal came when Mahmud bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off stump at 131.4 kph. The ball nipped back sharply after pitching, catching Jangoo by surprise as he lifted his bat and left a gap for it to crash into the top of middle and off stump.

Jangoo walked back after scoring 133 off 212 deliveries, with 13 fours and two sixes to his name. His innings was particularly important after West Indies had slipped to 27/3 early in the first session on Day 1. He also shared a 131-run partnership with debutant Kevin Wickham, who contributed 61.

Mahmud claims six wickets as West Indies are bowled out for 356

Earlier, Bangladesh made an impressive start with the ball after West Indies captain Roston Chase elected to bat first. Taskin Ahmed dismissed Brandon King and Joshua Da Silva, while Mahmud bowled Kavem Hodge to leave the visitors struggling at 27/3.

Jangoo and Wickham then steadied the innings with their century partnership before Mahmud struck again. After removing Jangoo, the pacer dismissed captain Chase for a golden duck and continued to trouble the lower order. Justin Greaves offered some resistance with a 51-run knock before Mehidy Hasan Miraz dismissed him.

Mahmud finished with figures of 6/90 as West Indies were bowled out for 356 in 106.4 overs. Bangladesh will now look to build a strong response with the bat and take advantage of the momentum gained through their bowlers.
