Vedanta Share Price, TCS Dividend & Ola Electric Rights Issue
Dividends, a bonus issue, stock splits and rights issues are crowding the calendar this week, and Vedanta share price and TCS are the names most investors will be tracking. A string of stocks turns ex-date between October 12 and 16.
Reminder on how ex-date works
The ex-date is the day a stock starts trading without the benefit of a corporate action. As one explainer put it, you need to own the shares before that day to be eligible, so buying on the ex-date itself won’t get you the benefit.
Dividends: TCS and Vedanta on October 14
Both heavyweights go ex-dividend on the same day. TCS leads the dividend segment this week. TCS and Vedanta have ex-dates on October 14, 2026, for interim dividends of Rs 12 and Rs 5 per share respectively.
For Vedanta, the Rs 5 payout is its first interim dividend for FY27. With a face value of Re 1 per share, the dividend works out to 500% of face value. Investors watching the Vedanta share price should expect it to adjust for the payout when trading begins on the ex-date.
Ola Electric’s rights issue
Ola Electric Mobility is the other big name. The company has approved a rights issue worth Rs 999.74 crore, with October 13 as the record date. New shares are being offered at Rs 27 apiece, and eligible investors will get 2 rights shares for every 25 equity shares held. Rights issues are a busy theme this week. Four stocks in all are carrying them.
Bonus and splits
On the bonus front, JOJO Ltd turns ex-date on Monday for its 1:1 bonus issue, giving one extra share for every share held. The week also has two stock splits, a move companies typically use to improve liquidity and make shares more affordable.
The tally
The exact count of stocks varies by source. One tally puts it at 13 stocks turning ex-date between October 12 and 16, while another counts 18 corporate actions for the week. Shareholders should check the official BSE and NSE corporate action pages for their own holdings.
