Tottenham make enquiry to sign £83,000-a-week star with same agent as Marmoush

Tottenham Hotspur have submitted an enquiry to sign “one of the most complete midfielders in Europe”, with a move to the Premier League in January now starting to look increasingly likely.

Spurs are aiming to make some new additions this winter, despite getting their first Premier League victory of the season on the board on Saturday, securing a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge through a Mike Penders own-goal and a late Mathys Tel effort.

Roberto De Zerbi was left delighted with the strides forward his side have been taking, saying: “It was a big moment for the fans, the club and the players also. They deserved this win, they prepared very well. We are improving a lot, we are improving in the mentality, in the group and the relationships with the players and then we are improving on the pitch.

“Against Aston Villa, Everton for 30 minutes we were playing very well. Maybe no goals, no finishing good enough to score and maybe in the first bad moment we changed mentality. Now it is a complete team. The players are playing better, we improved in the style.”

Although it was a tight game, with limited clear-cut opportunities, the Lilywhites edged it on the balance of play, and the result sees them move up to 12th in the Premier League table, having taken nine points from their opening eight matches.

However, Spurs’ start to the campaign has still been far from ideal, as evidenced by the fact they failed to score in their first four Premier League matches, and they remain keen on improving the squad in the next transfer window.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, which states Tottenham have now lodged an enquiry regarding a January deal for AC Milan star Ruben Loftus-Cheek, while they have also made contact to sign Fikayo Tomori.

Both players are now likely to return to the Premier League this winter, amid widespread interest, and the Italian side are open to sanctioning a sale of Loftus-Cheek, who is represented by the same agent as Omar Marmoush.

The midfielder, who rakes in £83,000-a-week at the San Siro, is open to returning to England, where he spent time with Crystal Palace, Fulham and Chelsea, picking up 13 goals and 18 assists in 155 appearances for the Blues.

Chelsea sold the Englishman to Milan in 2023, where he has gone to impress, with director Igli Tare saying in June 2025: “Milan has Loftus-Cheek, one of the most complete midfielders in Europe, he can be fundamental for the season.”

However, Spurs may not need to sign a new central midfielder, after bringing in Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali in the summer, whereas acquiring a striker could be more important, considering Dominic Solanke has scored just two goals in ten games across all competitions.
