Max Verstappen’s Singapore Win Changes Everything for 2027
Max Verstappen Just Broke His Singapore Curse
In 2023, Max Verstappen won 19 Formula 1 races in one of the most dominant seasons F1 had ever seen.
But there was one circuit he couldn’t conquer.
Singapore. Marina Bay.
Even with the legendary RB19, Verstappen couldn’t win there. Year after year, the Singapore Grand Prix remained one of the few races missing from his incredible Formula 1 career.
Then came 2026.
New regulations. A new Red Bull Ford power unit. An unpredictable RB22. And a season so difficult that some believed Verstappen wouldn’t win a single race.
But everything started to change.
Red Bull introduced major upgrades, worked through serious handling problems, and gradually transformed a struggling car into a race-winning machine.
First came victory in Malaysia.
Then, just one week later, Verstappen arrived in Singapore with unfinished business.
For the first time in his career, he secured pole position at Marina Bay — his 50th Formula 1 pole.
But winning wouldn’t be easy.
Charles Leclerc attacked at the start. Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari were pushing behind. Red Bull still had weaknesses, and even a radio communication problem threatened to complicate the race.
Yet Verstappen controlled the pressure, defended his position and finally crossed the finish line to claim his 73rd career Formula 1 victory.
The Singapore curse was finally broken.
And perhaps the most remarkable part?
He achieved it in a season when Red Bull had looked further away from winning than at almost any point in his championship-winning career.
In this video, we break down:
– Why Max Verstappen struggled at Singapore for so many years
– How even the dominant 2023 Red Bull failed at Marina Bay
– What went wrong with the RB22 at the beginning of 2026
– How Red Bull’s upgrades transformed the car
– The steering problem that affected Verstappen’s confidence
– Why the Azerbaijan and Malaysia races changed everything
– Verstappen’s historic 50th pole position in Singapore
– His battle with Charles Leclerc at the start
– How he controlled the race despite communication problems
– What his 73rd victory means for Red Bull’s future in 2027
This wasn’t just another Formula 1 victory.
It was the moment Max Verstappen finally conquered the circuit that had resisted him for years — and showed how far Red Bull had come since the beginning of the season.
Is Red Bull genuinely back, or did Singapore simply suit the RB22?
