Leftovers: Pringles introduces thicker chips | Pop Tarts gets buzzed with BuzzBallz
Leftovers is our look at a few of the product ideas popping up everywhere. Some are intriguing, some sound amazing and some are the kinds of ideas we would never dream of. We can’t write about everything that we get pitched, so here are some leftovers pulled from our inboxes.
Pringles launch brand’s ‘thickest crisp ever’
Pringles is adding some heft with thicker chips designed for dipping.
Pringles Dippers is sturdier than traditional Pringles and feature wavy crisps designed to scoop and hold dip. The new line comes in three flavors: original, French onion and bacon cheddar.
“We know it can be frustrating if your typical salty dipping vessel prevents your perfect scoop or breaks as you dip, which is why we’ve created Pringles Dippers,” Eileen Flaherty-Yao, senior director of salty at Mars Snacking North America, said in a statement. “Our iconic parabolic shape is now thicker and wavier than ever – built to handle any dipping style from light dips to heavy scoops.”
More brands are positioning themselves as pairings for dips, with PepsiCo’s Tostitos, for example, launching a companion guacamole. The dip category has grown as consumers look for customizable flavor combinations and snacks that can double as light meals.
Refrigerated dips was a $2.3 billion category for the year ending May 2025, according to Circana data cited by The Packer. Volume sales for the category increased 3.7% from 2024.

Pop Tarts are getting buzzed.
The popular breakfast treat is collaborating with Sazerac-owned BuzzBallz for a limited-edition collection. The partnership includes two flavors based on Pop Tarts’ well-known offerings: Frosted S’mores and Frosted Brown-Sugar Cinnamon.
Both drinks contain 15% alcohol by volume, and “are intended exclusively for consumers of legal drinking age.” The drinks retail for $3.99. They are currently rolling out nationwide.
BuzzBallz, the ready-to-drink canned cocktail, are known for their high alcohol content and uniquely round shape. The brand has found success among Gen Z and other younger drinkers who are looking for bold flavor combinations and high alcohol options that offer more booze for their buck.
The BuzzBallz Pop Tart offering is aimed at attracting millennial consumers interested in 1990s nostalgia, a Sazerac spokesperson said in a statement. Many traditional breakfast brands are leaning into nostalgic roots to attract Millennial consumers, including WK Kellogg, which recently brought back cereal box toys.
Sazerac bought BuzzBallz in 2024, part of a broader wave of deal making for the Buffalo Trace and Fireball owner. The company’s recent acquisitions have been particularly focused on younger legal drinking aged consumers, including multiple ready-to-drink cocktails such as Dirty Shirley and Au Vodka.
An IWSR report found 57% of RTD consumers in the U.S. are either Millennials or Gen Z.

Permission granted by Dr. Bombay’s
Snoop Dogg is taking a break from gin and juice for something a little colder – popsicles.
Dr. Bombay, the premium ice cream brand the rapper co-founded in 2023, is launching Snoopsicles. Instead of the typical water ice found in popsicles, Dr. Bombay’s are made of sherbet, which contains 2% milk fat and adds a smooth and creamy texture.
“Snoopsicles bring the spirit of 90s nostalgia and hip hop to the freezer aisle,” Hazem Hijleh, Dr. Bombay’s chief business officer, said in an email. “The nostalgic flavor you remember remixed into a bold, fruit-forward experience on a hot summer day … ‘Pop it while it’s hot.’ “
Snoopsicles are available in raspberry, cherry and lime exclusively at Costco, marking a retail expansion for the Dr. Bombay brand. They are made with real fruit juice and no artificial colors, tapping into consumer demand for healthier foods made with real ingredients.
It is also the first frozen novelty launched by Dr. Bombay since the ice cream brand’s founding. The popsicle format will broaden the startup’s consumer base and increase usage occasions for the company’s portfolio.
Dr. Bombay is best known for pints blending sherbet and ice cream. The unique blend allowed the brand to stand out with fruit-forward flavors in a category where 95% of ice cream pints sold in the U.S. are a combination of chocolate, vanilla, or caramel, Hijleh said.
