Arsenal lining up move to sign £125m Madueke & Eze upgrade

Fresh from the ultimate humbling at the hands of League Two side Fleetwood Town, Arsenal head to Anfield with a dented crown atop their head.

At a time when the Gunners could do with some welcome routine, taking a trip to the place they’ve not won once in the last ten years certainly isn’t ideal.

Mikel Arteta is never one to shirk away from a challenge, however, and he will be laying down the gauntlet for his side after their Carabao Cup humiliation. For some players, it’s beginning to look do or die.

They may be champions, but that doesn’t mean Arsenal’s problems have gone away. They did enough last season to silence any doubters, supplementing an under-par frontline with a near-historic set-piece threat. The Gunners headed into the summer knowing that attacking targets were a must.

When Christos Tzolis arrived, it looked like the first of many impressive signings. By the end of the window, however, Arsenal had failed in their pursuit of Julian Alvarez, Morgan Rogers and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior. Arteta was left without the star attacker that he was searching for.

The consequences of that failure are beginning to rear their head. Whilst a lot of the focus will be on the form of Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz, it’s worth noting how poor Arsenal’s wide men have been.

With Bukayo Saka sidelined through injury, the responsibility has fallen the way of Noni Madueke and, at times, Eberechi Eze. Both have disappointed.

In many ways there is irony that the two players who cost a combined fee of around £100m in 2025 are now the two players who look entirely upgradeable one year later.

Having been involved in a combined six goals so far this season, Arteta must axe Eze and Madueke, before welcoming a £125m star as soon as possible.

Arsenal plotting mega-money move for £125m star

One thing that Arteta has done since arriving at Arsenal is learn from his mistakes. It’s why his side eventually completed their story to finally win the Premier League last season and why they’ll be looking to do what they did not do last summer by welcoming key attacking stars in the near future.

They were not short on options in the summer, but ultimately failed to get a deal over the line for some impressive names. Some of those names may even be back on the Gunners’ radar in 2027, including Kenan Yildiz.

According to TeamTalk, Arsenal are lining up a move to sign Yildiz, which could cost as much as £125m in 2027. In what would be a club-record deal at the Emirates, Arteta could finally welcome the attacking solution that he’s been searching for.

The Premier League champions are reportedly best-placed to get a deal over the line at this stage and Juventus need to raise money through player sales next year. The stars are undeniably aligning for all parties.

In terms of creative quality, Yildiz would tick a lot of boxes for Arsenal. The 21-year-old has endured some injury issues this season, but often stole the show in the last campaign – ending the year with 16 goal involvements.

What’s more, only one player created more chances than Yildiz’s 76 in Serie A last season and that number would have also ranked him second in the Premier League – above every Arsenal player.

If those in North London are looking to end their attacking problems, then Yildiz should be among their priorities next summer. Before even reaching his full potential, he would instantly be Arsenal’s most creative attacker.
