Why did Hollywood choose Vidyut Jammwal to play Dhalsim in Street Fighter instead of a bigger Bollywood superstar?
The answer goes beyond star power. Vidyut’s real martial arts background, physical abilities, yoga skills and his connection with Indian culture made him a perfect fit for the character.
Director Kitao Sakurai wanted Dhalsim to feel authentic rather than like a stereotypical version of an Indian character — and Vidyut apparently had exactly what the role needed.
Sometimes, skill speaks louder than stardom. 🔥
