WHAT?! Martha Stewart Now Blames CRAIG MELVIN For Her Disastrous Halloween Costume Choice?!

Oh, Martha, no no no…

Martha Stewart came under fire this past weekend when she, a millionaire, decided to dress up as a homeless person for Halloween. Yeah…

At first she took ownership for the mistake, telling fans on Instagram:

“I am distressed that my Halloween costume yesterday, which was intended to bring more awareness to the very serious subject of homelessness, has offended people, which was never my intention. Homelessness continues to remain one of America’s greatest challenges and ongoing crises, something that I care deeply about and I have spent a significant amount of time and effort supporting charities that combat this ongoing social epidemic.”

Okay, so she’s saying by dressing up as a homeless person she wasn’t mocking poverty but trying to raise awareness for it.

Then, in a later post, she flat out apologizes:

“It’s hard to admit when you’ve really screwed up. My earlier statement didn’t go far enough. I know many people are suffering economically. Wearing a costume like I did was insensitive and not funny. I am very sorry.”

Everyone makes mistakes. Showing genuine remorse for it, apologizing, and growing from it is the right thing.

Well, now she’s blaming Craig Melvin for it.

Despite her previous statement insisting she was intentionally raising awareness for those unhoused, she’s now saying she chose the costume because Craig — who was dressed up as Snoop Dogg — spilled some ice cream on her original party look during her Friday segment on TODAY, leaving her in a bind with only a short amount of time to figure something new out.

With only “10 minutes” to brainstorm something new, TMZ reports she told attendees at a CrossCountry Mortgage Sales Rally in Florida this week she decided “a bum” was her best bet. Oof.

She still insisted it was never meant as an insult.

Thoughts? Should Martha have stopped talking about it after her apology post, or was the extra context helpful to know??
