ποΈ During the 2023 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas, Max Verstappen was leading the race when his race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase (GP), interrupted him on the team radio while he was braking into Turn 1. GP calmly updated Max on his gap to Lewis Hamilton, but the timing couldn’t have been worse! Verstappen missed his braking point and ran wide, failing to hit the apex of the corner.
π Clearly frustrated, Verstappen told GP to stop talking while he was braking, with GP replying, βUnderstood, Max.β But just eight laps later, GP made the exact same mistake again! As Verstappen braked into Turn 1, GP came over the radio with another gap update, prompting an even angrier response from Max: βNo talking in the braking, man, f*ck!β
