She Made It One Week! Katie Zacharia Fired As White House Press Secretary After It Was Discovered She Never Passed The Bar Exam
And just like that, another Trump staffer gone.
Katie Zacharia has faced immense backlash this week after controversy grew when it was discovered she never passed the U.S. bar exam. Law degree? Yes. Attorney by U.S. standards? No.
Now, do press secretaries have to be attorneys? Of course not. But Katie has been representing herself as a lawyer on conservative news sites like Fox News and Newsmax. Trump even called her an “attorney” when he was bragging about her new position.
Campaign for Accountability, a watchdog group, filed a complaint with the State Bar of California asking for an investigation into her claim, stating:
“Ms. Zacharia has represented herself as a lawyer repeatedly to buttress her reputation and credibility as a television legal commentator and now as the White House spokesperson, yet it seems it was all a lie.”
When reporters asked her when she passed the bar exam this week, she replied “When I moved to China.” Reportedly, she later said she misheard their question… hmm.

The White House announced her as its new Press Secretary on October 9, and now, literally a week later she’s out per The New York Times.
Impressively, she beats Anthony Scaramucci for shortest run in a Trump administration. He lasted 10 days.
