Schumacher: Four Interlagos Wins, Max And Lewis On Three #Shorts #F1 #Formula1 #BrazilGP #Verstappen
Max or Lewis – who gets to four first?
Michael Schumacher won at Interlagos four times – 1994, 1995, 2000 and 2002 – and nobody has won there more. Three drivers are one behind: Lewis Hamilton (2016, 2018, 2021), Max Verstappen (2019, 2023, 2024) and Sebastian Vettel (2010, 2013, 2017).
Vettel has retired, so on Sunday only two drivers can draw level with Schumacher: a win for Hamilton or Verstappen makes it four. Verstappen won here from 17th on the grid in 2024. Hamilton won from 10th in 2021.
Seven drivers have won twice at Interlagos: Emerson Fittipaldi, Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen, Juan Pablo Montoya, Felipe Massa, Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg. Last year’s winner was Lando Norris, his first at the circuit.
The teams are just as close: McLaren and Ferrari have nine Interlagos wins each, Red Bull seven and Mercedes six. A Ferrari win for Hamilton on Sunday would also break that tie.
How it is counted: all 42 World Championship races at Interlagos, 1973-2025. The Brazilian Grands Prix held at Jacarepagua in Rio (1978 and 1981-89) are a different circuit and are not included.
