Pierre Gasly is a French Formula 1 driver born on 7 February 1996 in Rouen, France. He made his F1 debut at the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix after coming up through junior categories, having won the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2013 and the GP2 Series in 2016. He spent his early F1 years with Red Bull’s junior team, alternating between Toro Rosso (later AlphaTauri) and the main Red Bull squad, and scored his sole race win to date at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. In 2023 he joined the BWT Alpine F1 Team, replacing Fernando Alonso, and picked up a podium in his first season with a third place at the Dutch Grand Prix, repeating that result in Singapore the following year. Known for his consistency and strong wet-weather driving, Gasly has become Alpine’s senior driver and a key figure in the team’s French identity. In 2025 he signed a long-term extension keeping him at Alpine through the end of the 2028 season, expressing pride in driving for a French manufacturer and belief that the team can fight at the front under F1’s new 2026 regulations. He races with car number 10 and is partnered by Franco Colapinto for the 2026 season.
