Sergio Perez has revealed that Christian Horner warned him before he joined Red Bull that “everything is for Max, around Max,” and now says facing Verstappen there is “the toughest challenge” because every experienced engineer went to Max. He still won five races and delivered Red Bull’s first one-two in 2023, but never matched his team-mate, and the team has run through three drivers since he left.
