This is such a frightening situation.
Police in Toronto are searching for a 22-year-old mother who allegedly abducted her three young children during a family visit on Friday. Now, all four are missing.
According to People and other news outlets on Saturday morning, Somerda Miclescu allegedly took off with her son Daniel, 6, and daughters Irina, 3, and Anastasia, just 4 months old, during a semi-supervised visit back on Friday afternoon. Authorities say she does not have legal custody of the children.

The Toronto Police Service explained as much in a statement sent out to multiple media outlets on Saturday morning:
“At approximately 11:32 a.m., police responded to a call for an Abduction in the Midland Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East area. The children were visiting a family member, and the accused took the children and fled the premises.”
Miclescu is now wanted for “abduction by parent.” Investigators believe she may be driving a white 2017 Ford Expedition with Ontario license plate DJJS 875.
Police describe her as 5-foot-7 and approximately 180 pounds, with long black hair. She was last seen wearing a dark-colored top and a long black skirt.
Later on Saturday morning, a TPS spokesperson told the mag:
“I can confirm that this is still an active and ongoing investigation. There are officers assigned to this case currently, and investigators are following up on any leads and canvassing for any witnesses or video.”
Regarding the possibility of an Amber Alert, the spokesperson added:
“If this goes to an Amber Alert, which would be determined by the investigators, they will go through the proper channels via the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).”
The circumstances surrounding Miclescu’s custody situation remain unclear, and police have not publicly disclosed further details about that yet.
