Can the hottest driver in F1 stop the championship leader’s title party? 🔥
Max Verstappen went about ten months without a Grand Prix win. Then, at Sepang on 4 October, he won a rain-hit race from pole: Red Bull’s first win of 2026.
A week later in Singapore he won both the Sprint and the Grand Prix, his first win there, for the maximum 33 points in a weekend. Over the last five races he has scored 109 points, more than any other driver, including championship leader Kimi Antonelli (98).
Next is the United States Grand Prix in Austin on Sunday 25 October. Verstappen has won there four times (2021, 2022, 2023, 2025) and has been on the podium at every Austin race since 2018. One more win ties Lewis Hamilton’s record of five Austin wins.
And Antonelli could clinch the 2026 title in the same race.
