Breaking news from the Red Bull camp ahead of the 2026 Dutch Grand
Prix at Zandvoort.
Isack Hadjar has injured his wrist during a gym session in the
summer break and is set to miss this weekend’s race. A medical
check at the circuit on Thursday will make it official.
The domino effect is massive. Liam Lawson steps up from Racing
Bulls straight back into the Red Bull seat alongside Max
Verstappen โ the same Lawson who was dropped by Red Bull after
just two races in 2025 and has spent 2026 quietly rebuilding his
career. Ninth in the championship. Best driver outside the top
four teams. This recall is reward for a strong season.
With Lawson’s Racing Bulls seat vacant, Yuki Tsunoda returns to
the Formula 1 grid. Dropped from Red Bull at the end of 2025 to
make room for Hadjar. Left without a race seat in 2026. Now gets
an unexpected weekend back.
And the detail that makes this story even better โ this is the
second time Lawson has stepped into a Red Bull at Zandvoort
because of an injury. In 2023 he made his entire F1 debut here
when Daniel Ricciardo broke his hand in practice. Same circuit.
Same team. Three years later.
Zandvoort and Liam Lawson clearly have something going on.
