Chelsea looking to sign “technically outstanding” Bayern Munich player on free transfer
Chelsea are now looking to bring in a Bayern Munich player on a free transfer, with the German side still yet to make any progress in negotiations over a new contract.
On paper, Xabi Alonso & co appeared to have a decent summer transfer window, bringing in what was arguably some much-needed experience in the form of Emiliano Martinez, Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck, while Morgan Rogers was their statement signing in attack.
However, Sky Sports’ James Savundra continues to insist there are some problems that still need to be rectified if the Blues are going to be successful, saying: “The defensive issues that Chelsea have had pre-date Alonso’s arrival.
“It is now 21 Premier League matches since they last kept a clean sheet which is remarkable – even though Chelsea have had a huge amount of change and there’s been a huge amount of transition in 2026. For a club the size of Chelsea that simply isn’t good enough.”
Savundra also goes on to suggest Martinez “isn’t at the level” he was at a few years ago, although the Argentina international has been averaging the highest number of saves per 90 in the Premier League this season.

The former Aston Villa man remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2029, but considering he is 34-years-old, the Blues may have to start thinking about bringing in a long-term replacement sooner rather than later, and they are now plotting a raid on Bayern Munich.
Chelsea eyeing move for Leonard Prescott
According to a report from Sky Sports Deutschland (via Sport Witness), Chelsea are interested in signing Bayern goalkeeper Leonard Prescott, with the 17-year-old’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Prescott is yet to commit to a new deal due to concerns about his long-term future at the Allianz Arena, with Jonas Urbig regarded as the successor to Manuel Neuer.
Juventus are also interested in signing the 6-foot-5 giant, who has been lauded for his ability in possession of the ball by Bayern U19 coach Peter Gaydarov.
Gaydarov said: “He’s technically outstanding – you feel like he could play outfield. He’s very courageous in his actions and definitely very advanced for his age.”
As he is still very young, the teenager is yet to make a senior appearance for Bayern Munich, but he has collected nine caps for Germany’s U17 side, while he has also made 16 appearances for his current employers’ U19 side, conceding 29 goals.
In truth, it is too early to say whether Prescott would be able to replace Martinez on a long-term basis, and the Argentinian is still a very recent arrival, who may have a few years remaining at the highest level.
