Yes, as was the case in 2025, the Lilywhites appear to be chasing Manchester City’s Savinho, even with a new man at the helm in the form of Roberto De Zerbi.
The Brazilian did endure a difficult 2025/26, scoring and assisting just two Premier League goals all season, although that hasn’t quelled Spurs’ interest.
City, amid their own pursuit of Chelsea’s Pedro Neto, seemingly want a replacement first before they sanction a sale, but by all accounts, Savinho will be a Tottenham player before the deadline rolls around.
How Savinho compared to Europe’s best wingers in 2025/26
Now, as stated, it wasn’t a vintage second season for the 22-year-old at the Etihad, swiftly fading from view under Pep Guardiola as he started just seven league games.
A year earlier, following his arrival from Girona, Savinho had scored once and registered eight assists for the Citizens, notably creating 11 ‘big chances’ and averaging 1.8 successful dribbles per game.
That tally of one goal and one assist from 2025/26 doesn’t make for great reading, but scratch beneath the surface, and there are still at least reasons to be optimistic.
Indeed, the versatile winger – who can operate off the left or right flank, as well as at number ten – ranked highly across a string of key metrics, in comparison to his peers in Europe’s big five leagues.
He notably ranked in the top 5% for shot-ending carries, as well as in the top 4% for deep carries per 90, highlighting just what an effective dribbler and ball progresser he is – as he also previously showed in Spain.

In that regard too, the South American speedster also ranked in the top 1% for progressive carries and the top 15% for productive dribbles per 90, while ranking in the top 1% with regard to received through balls.
In essence, he’s at his best progressing play from deeper positions, yet also when bursting in behind a backline, with a consistent end product the only major thing missing from his game right now.
A potential £60m deal might well prove a coup for the Lilywhites, although he’s not the only Brazilian on ENIC’s radar.
Spurs could sign another Brazilian as De Zerbi’s ‘bomba’
It’s been a summer of statement signings for Spurs so far. The north Londoners blew away Manchester United to sign Mateus Fernandes, before pouncing to land Sandro Tonali, despite some admiring glances from the Etihad.
De Zerbi and co haven’t been afraid to mix it with their Premier League rivals, and could they do so again for the signing of Real Madrid starlet, Endrick?
As per TEAMtalk, Tottenham are among a raft of clubs who have all been in talks regarding a potential move for the young Brazilian, with the striker’s camp seeking a possible escape route from the Bernabeu.
The likes of Liverpool and Chelsea are also in the frame, with discussions said to be ‘ongoing’ for all those clubs, as the race heats up to secure his signature.
A potential loan-to-buy deal has been mooted, with there certainly merit in pursuing this 20-year-old “phenomenon”, as hailed by compatriot, Gabriel Jesus.
It hasn’t quite worked as yet for Endrick ever since he moved to Spain, but boy is he a talent, already viewed as Brazil’s modern-day saviour amid ongoing comparisons to the late, great Pele.
He certainly hasn’t hit those heights as yet for Los Blancos, but there were flashes of his quality out on loan at Lyon last season, following his move to France in January.
Operating typically on the right flank, the diminutive marksman could well be viewed as a truly elite version of Savinho, with even that six-month stint in France proving so impressive.
Even in a short space of time, he comfortably bettered Savinho’s return of just two league goals and assists in 2025/26, scoring five and assisting a further seven in just 14 starts in Ligue 1.
While a centre-forward by trade, Endrick was such a handful in that right-sided berth, having also created nine ‘big chances’, albeit while missing nine himself.
That creative quality was seen in his average of 1.9 key passes per game, while he also averaged 2.3 successful dribbles per game, ranking 11th in the division for total successful dribbles completed, despite only joining midway through the season.
For comparison, Savinho didn’t create a single big chance, while averaging just 0.4 and 0.7 for those same two metrics, respectively, as he fell from favour under Guardiola.
That’s not to say the left-footer can’t explode under the right guidance of De Zerbi, but if it’s a truly marquee, ‘bomba’ signing the club are after, then Endrick is surely the man.
