Aston Villa are ready to step up their pursuit of Nicolas Jackson after receiving the green light from NSWE to overcome a key financial obstacle.
The Villans have already done business with Chelsea twice this summer, selling Morgan Rogers to those at Stamford Bridge for a British record fee and then welcoming Alejandro Garnacho on loan. Now, both parties look to be heading back to the negotiating table for Jackson.
Unai Emery has, of course, worked with Jackson in the past. The pair were together at Villarreal before the manager left for Aston Villa and the forward joined Chelsea.
The Blues are ready to sell Jackson, but only at the right price. They know more than anyone that those in the Midlands have the money to spend after sending them as much as £117m to sign Rogers earlier this summer.

Jackson was a rising star at the time and whilst six goal involvements in 27 appearances may not make for pretty reading, the Senegal international clearly did enough to impress Emery.
At 25 years old, the Spaniard clearly believes that this is still a forward who is full of potential, despite how things have gone at Stamford Bridge.
NSWE clear major hurdle for Aston Villa to sign Jackson
According to SportsBoom, NSWE are ready to green-light Jackson’s wage demands to clear a major obstacle between the forward and Aston Villa. The Villans are also now preparing an offer to sign the Chelsea man. Whether that matches the Blues’ £60m valuation remains to be seen, though.
A move for Jackson would tick a fair few boxes for Villa. The forward is similar to Ollie Watkins in terms of work out of possession and has the ability to run in behind. There’s no doubt that his finishing needs work, but reuniting with Emery could bring him to a new level entirely.
Aston Villa submit bid for South American
Alongside Jackson, Aston Villa are also targeting Allan Elias from Palmeiras. The Midlands club have reportedly submitted an offer to sign the winger, but are still £13m short of his asking price.
As Leon Bailey heads for the exit door, a move for Allan would instantly hand Emery a much-needed attacking addition. With Champions League football awaiting next season, there’s no doubt that the Spaniard will need as much depth as he can get in the Midlands.
