Aston Villa have held talks to sign Manchester City winger Jack Grealish, as they look to beat Sunderland to his signature before the September 1st transfer deadline.
Everton have also been showing interest in signing their former loan player, after a successful spell last season, with Premier League sides queuing up to secure Grealish’s signature.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Aston Villa have now held talks to sign Grealish, in an attempt to beat Sunderland to his signature.
However, David Moyes’ side have also been in talks, with the Englishman becoming popular with their fans last season, while the Black Cats have been in discussions too, as they look to make a statement signing ahead of their Europa League campaign.
The former Aston Villa man has just one year remaining on his £300,000-a-week Man City contract, which means he has a big decision to make, and Enzo Maresca’s side risk losing him for free if they don’t agree a sale this summer or in January.
Having featured in both the Community Shield and City’s opening Premier League game against AFC Bournemouth, the left-winger has been re-integrated somewhat since the arrival of Enzo Maresca, but he only featured for eight minutes against the Cherries.
At this stage of his career, regular game time is likely to be important to the once-£100m winger, and a move to Villa Park could be particularly appealing, considering Champions League football will be on offer this season.
