Andrew Garfield plays Sam Altman in Artificial, Luca Guadagnino’s new film about one of the wildest episodes in recent tech history — the November 2023 crisis at OpenAI.
The story revolves around the five days when Altman was removed as CEO, Mira Murati briefly took over, hundreds of employees threatened to leave, and Altman ultimately returned to the company.
And the trailer makes this feel anything but like a conventional tech biopic. It’s eerie, intense and almost dystopian — fitting for a story about the people who helped put ChatGPT into the world and the enormous consequences of AI.
