Adam Murray reacts after his Barrow side concede twice late on to lose 2-1 to Yeovil and drop to 23rd in the National League table.

Barrow had gone ahead in the 75th minute, Keaton Ward with a volley. Just over 10 minutes later, Yeovil’s comeback was on when Luke McCormick scored from the penalty spot.

Then a 94th minute winner, a header from Joe Gubbins, sparking jubilant celebrations from Yeovil and those who made the long trip north, while Barrow expressed frustration.

Barrow’s Adam Murray said: “Speechless. I’m not sure what to say to be honest with you. I can’t believe we’ve lost the game. I’m getting bored of saying that. I don’t know.

“I think, it’s, I look at it. I just said to the players there, if teams are dominating us, teams are opening us up, teams are outplaying us, teams are creating loads of chances against us, you hold your hands up and say that we got a lot of work to do to be to be a decent team.

“But we’re making our own mistakes like the two goals again, the massive massive massive individual errors that are killing us at the minute.

“And at the other end of the pitch, I think again tonight we’ve had, look, I know people are bored of me saying it, but I don’t know what to say because we’ve had another 40 odd box entries, another 20 odd crosses where the quality is not good enough.

“We’re getting into the final third so many times. We should be two, three up at half time, but we’re giving teams the opportunity to to get back in the game by not punishing teams, and that’s the story at the minute.

“We’re doing so many things right, we, I can’t remember really them coming out the half in the first half and they’re a very good team.

“But we’re getting so many opportunities to punish people and we’re not doing it. And that is at the minute that’s a story and the longer we leave the back door open, you’re always vulnerable to a counter attack or a set piece or an error which is the common theme at the minute.

“So I’m just so frustrated because it’s, there’s lots of things again that I’m really pleased with, not at the minute but I will be in terms of I know overall the performance was pretty good and the numbers are telling me that but the most important number we’re not getting right at the minute and that hurts.”

On the mentality: “For massive parts of it I thought it was excellent but we I don’t know, I just felt we made we we had a couple of knocks we made the subs and it jointed us a little bit we lost a bit of our intensity the the first goal .

“It’s the only time in the game where we didn’t have the intensity and we’ve allowed them space and they’ve opened us up and we knew we knew that’s what they were about. So, that’s a massive frustration for me because um we’ve spoke about it all week.

“The players knew what the game plan was and we came off script for for two minutes and then look, I’m not going to make excuses, but we ain’t getting the rub of the green again. Keaton’s slipped in the box and and took the lad out and then how the fellas give the free kick for the the second one again. I can’t say too much on that, but it’s embarrassing. Like the balls clearly won and it summed that up.

“But yeah, it’s tough. It’s really tough at the minute because there’s so many things that I’m seeing that are good and I’m a little bit confused as to how we are not getting more points because we are doing so much right, but when we are not putting balls in the net, this is what happens.”

Yeovil’s Billy Rowley said: “I mean it feels really good. Like I think it’s easy to get carried away and zoom in on these wins and I think you have to in the time cuz you know like football’s a very up and down career and you know one of my favourite players Roy Keane has said many times you know you live through enough football most of its hard times and you get very few good ones.

“So, I think it’s important to enjoy the win, but it’s just three points. That’s all it is, but I’m yeah, I’m so thrilled with the lads. Like the togetherness of this group, even after four games, I really feel it and I really sense it.

“So, I think in that sense, it’s a really important three points.”

On the full time scenes: “All the staff, you know, Daz, Glenn, Joe, Sam, Gouldy drove all the way up here today. You know, he spent the last couple of days in hospital and he’s driven his car all the way from where he is in Bristol to to this game today to meet us.

“And the reason for that is cuz he feels like a real strong connection with this group and his management team and and I, you know, echo that really.

“So, look, we work really hard. We’ve got a pretty small management team. um put a lot of time and effort into watching opposition like everyone does, but yeah, like when you when you get those last minute winners, it’s just it makes it all worthwhile.”
