A Special Birthday, Family Time, And An Update On Perez’s Recovery
We wanted to share an update on Perez and a special family milestone that meant a great deal to all of us.
On October 4, Perez’s youngest daughter, Mayte, celebrated her 9th birthday. Perez’s children and family were able to visit him at his residential treatment center to celebrate the occasion together. While this year’s birthday looked very different from years past, it was still an incredibly special and meaningful day.
Being able to celebrate Mayte’s birthday together was especially meaningful for Perez, who has missed being part of so many everyday moments with his children while receiving treatment.
Mayte also enjoyed a second birthday celebration at her cousins’ home, surrounded by family, love, and some much-wanted ice cream cake!

Perez continues to receive mental health treatment in a structured residential setting and remains focused on his recovery with the support of his treatment team. There’s still a long road ahead, but we’re grateful for the progress he’s made and the time he’s been able to spend with his family.
These past few months have brought challenges none of us could have imagined, but they’ve also reminded us of what truly matters. Above all, we’re grateful that Perez is alive, that he has the opportunity to continue healing, and that there are still many more birthdays and family milestones ahead.
Perez’s children continue to be surrounded by love and support, and their happiness, stability, and well-being remain among our family’s highest priorities. We’re looking toward the future with hope for Perez’s continued recovery and brighter days ahead for everyone.
Thank you again for your continued prayers, encouragement, and compassion.
