Man Utd now lining up move to sign £75m Premier League star
Manchester United are exploring a move for a Premier League star, and he is now interested in making the move to Old Trafford.
That is despite the fact Michael Carrick‘s side have failed to kick on after his stunning temporary spell last term, collecting just seven points from their opening seven Premier League matches, and they have failed to secure a victory in their last five.
In defence, Diogo Dalot has become the first choice at left-back after Luke Shaw was ruled out with an injury, which is expected to keep the Englishman out until the beginning of November.
Shaw was one of United’s most important players last season, starting every single Premier League match, but INEOS are now paying the price for failing to bring in a new left-back during the summer transfer window.
Indeed, the debate about the club’s lack of investment in defence was stirred up again this week due to Erik ten Hag’s comments about Cristiano Ronaldo.
Reflecting on the Portuguese star’s time at the club, fans brought up a 4-0 thrashing at Brentford back in August 2022, with many noticing that their back four has barely changed since then despite so little success.

Newcastle United star Lewis Hall was one of the left-backs the Red Devils pursued this summer, but the Magpies stood firm on their £75m valuation, and he has since signed a contract extension which ties him down at St. James’ Park until 2031.
Man Utd still keen on signing Lewis Hall
Despite failing to get a deal for Hall over the line in the summer, Man United are still lining up a move for the Newcastle full-back, according to a report from Football Insider, which states he remains keen on joining.
AFC Bournemouth’s Adrien Truffert remains in the frame as an alternative target, but the Newcastle defender has been outperforming the Frenchman across some key metrics for full-backs in the Premier League this season.

As such, the Englishman is the Red Devils’ priority target, but it could be difficult to get a deal over the line, given that the Magpies are likely to hold out for a big fee.
The 22-year-old has been one of Matthias Jaissle’s key players this season, starting every Premier League match, while he also impressed under Eddie Howe last term, with journalist Jordan Cronin praising his performance in the EFL Cup against Manchester City.
Cronin said: “Lewis Hall was magnificent tonight. Showed unbelievable composure and ball control to carry NUFC forward at times.”
Given his age, Hall could be Man United’s first-choice left-back for more than a decade to come, so INEOS should go all out to secure his signature, and it is an added bonus that he is keen on a move to Old Trafford.
