🏎️ Max Verstappen wins the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, taking his first Formula 1 victory of the season and what appears to be his 72nd F1 win with Red Bull Racing. But after the race, a strange and hilarious radio exchange with race engineer Gianpiero “GP” Lambiase leaves Max completely confused.
🎙️ After Laurent Mekies and GP congratulate Verstappen over the post-race team radio, GP suddenly says: “Not 72 mate, come on, it’s…” Max responds: “What? What’s that?” GP then cryptically hints again that it isn’t really number 72, before Verstappen finally seems to understand the joke and replies: “Ah, we’ll keep that for ourselves, ha.”
😂 So what did Max Verstappen and GP mean? Was it actually win 71 or 73, or were they making a classic Verstappen 69 joke — 69+3 = 72? Whatever the meaning, Max and GP clearly know something we don’t! Another brilliant Verstappen team radio moment after victory in Formula 1.
