Arsenal make contact to sign £30m Belgium international after detailed Gunners scouting
Arsenal‘s summer spending spree may not be complete after a £75m deal for Bruno Guimaraes, that is if Mikel Arteta gets his wish.
The Gunners have already strengthened ahead of their title defence, with Guimaraes joining Illan Meslier and Christos Tzolis as new faces at the Emirates.
Piero Hincapie’s move from Bayer Leverkusen has also been made permanent after his loan spell, but speaking after Arsenal’s pre-season defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Sunday, Arteta admitted the club are still actively looking for further reinforcements.

A versatile defender is on the wishlist in north London, and it looks as if one player in particular has caught the eye of Gunners scouts.
Arsenal make Joaquin Seys enquiry
According to reports from The Sun, Arsenal are looking into a deal for Club Brugge defender Joaquin Seys.
The Gunners have made a formal enquiry regarding the 21-year-old’s availability, as have Premier League rivals Manchester United and Aston Villa. Portuguese giants Benfica and Porto are also interested in Seys, who is becoming a man in demand in the final weeks of the window.
It is claimed that Gunners scouts have flown to watch the youngster in person and compiled a detailed scouting dossier on the Belgium international. They feel he would ‘suit their system as someone solid defensively who also provides creativity on the flank’.
Club Brugge are demanding around €35m (£30m) for their academy graduate, who can play as a left-back or cover as a right-back.
Seys has already established himself as a major first-team player for Club Brugge at the age of 21.

He joined Brugge’s academy in 2012, progressed through their youth system and is now close to reaching 100 first-team appearances for the club, while also making Belgium’s 2026 World Cup.
Primarily a left-back, Seys impressed in the Champions League last season, featuring 13 times, scoring three goals and providing three assists including qualification games.
His versatility to cover both sides could prove particularly useful given the current absences of Jurrien Timber, rivalling the likes of Riccardo Calafiori, Hincapie, Timber and Ben White, something Arteta appears to love when targeting a full-back.
Described as a “goldmine” of talent by the Belgian media, Arsenal could hit the jackpot if they manage to win the race for Seys’ services.
