Reason: Torrential rain
Synopsis: Hours of heavy rain prevented proper racing, with only Safety Car laps completed before the event was abandoned.
Fun Fact: It is the shortest Formula 1 race ever, with half points awarded.
๐ฆ๐บ 2020 Australian Grand Prix
Reason: COVID-19 pandemic
Synopsis: The race was cancelled on Friday morning after a McLaren team member tested positive for COVID-19, hours before practice.
Fun Fact: Many fans were already at the circuit before the cancellation was announced.
๐ฎ๐น 2023 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix
Reason: Severe flooding
Synopsis: Catastrophic floods struck the Emilia-Romagna region, forcing an entire race weekend cancellation so emergency services could focus on rescue efforts.
Fun Fact: It is one of the few F1 weekends cancelled purely due to extreme weather.
๐ง๐ญ 2011 Bahrain Grand Prix
Reason: Political unrest
Synopsis: Anti-government protests and security concerns led to the season opener being postponed, before it was cancelled altogether.
Fun Fact: It remains the only modern F1 race cancelled due to nationwide political unrest.
