Woods strengthens rankings position

Tiger Woods strengthened his hold on top spot in golf's world rankings with his dominant victory in the WGC Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday, while fellow American Keegan Bradley moved into the top 10.

Woods romped home by seven shots on 15 under par, his 79th career win taking him within three of Sam Snead's all-time record, and took his average point total from 12.46 to 14.19 - well clear of second-placed Phil Mickelson, who improved marginally to 8.56.

Bradley and Henrik Stenson shared second place in Akron and jumped seven and eight places respectively to sit 10th and 11th in the rankings.
