Aniston to marry writer Theroux

Jennifer Aniston is ready to marry again - the actress is engaged to screenwriter and actor Justin Theroux.

Aniston's spokesman Stephen Huvane confirmed the engagement after it was first reported by People.com.

Theroux, 41 - whose screenwriting credits include Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2 and Rock Of Ages - popped the question on Friday, which was also his birthday.

The two appeared together in the comedy Wanderlust, also starring Paul Rudd, earlier this year.

This will be 43-year-old Aniston's second marriage and Theroux's first.

Her union with Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 - and their subsequent divorce - became rich material for the tabloids.

After her marriage ended, she was in high-profile relationships with actor Vince Vaughn and musician John Mayer. Aniston's engagement comes four months after Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced their engagement.

Theroux's spokesman said: "Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage."

Theroux and Aniston have known each other for years, but started dating more than a year ago after working on Wanderlust.

The two moved in together and tabloids soon began predicting everything from marriage to babies for the new couple. This will be Theroux's first marriage. It is not clear if a wedding date for the couple had been set.
