Black Eyed Peas Opening "Academy"

The Black Eyed Peas gave some students a thrill of a lifetime. Through their Peapod Foundation along with Adobe, the Peas are opening a school in Lower Manhattan.

The announcement was made in front a talented group of students who attend Urban Arts Partnership after-school program.

The Peapod Adobe Youth Voice Music and Multimedia School will teach students how to shoot and edit videos, the ins and outs of music production, while also allowing kids to explore their own creativity in poetry and dance.

The Peas already run three Youth Voices Academies in California.

The group members say helping the youth of tomorrow is music to their ears and a goal for their own future.

Will.i.am has been a mentor on American Idol this season, but he says the Youth Voices Program allows him to mentor New York City's underprivileged.
